563. George Herbert McCord (American, 1848-1909), “View of Sorrento”, c.1880; oil/canvas, 21" x 30", signed and titled, excellent period frame. Important early marine painter. McCord was a member of the National Academy, Brooklyn Art Club, and American Watercolor Society. He exhibited at the New Orleans (1885), Mechanics Institute, and the St. Louis Expo (1904). 5000-7000
