527. Edmund Henry Wuerpel (American, 1866-1958), “Figure on a Beach”, c.1925; oil/canvas, 10" x 11", signed and dedicated, “to Myra”. Wuerpel studied with Whistler and Gerome in Paris. He was the Dean of the St. Louis School of Fine Art and was well-known for his atmospheric landscapes. He exhibited extensively and won awards at the St. Louis Expo (1904), Pan-Pacific Expo (1915). 1000-1500
