526. Edmund Henry Wuerpel (American, 1866-1958), “Sky and Water”, c.1925; oil/canvas, 10.5" x 8.5", signed with monogram. Wuerpel studied with Whistler and Gerome in Paris. He was the Dean of the St. Louis School of Fine Art and was well-known for his atmospheric landscapes. He exhibited extensively and won awards at the St. Louis Expo (1904), Pan-Pacific Expo (1915). 1000-1500
