Frederick Rushing Roe (American, early 20th century), “The Sylvan Pool”, c.1922; oil/board, 12" x 14", signed and titled again on verso, and dedicated to Thomas Webster, Jr. Roe was a well-known St. Louis painter, and contemporary of Edmund Wuerpel. He painted tonalist landscapes, nymphs, and gypsy camps, and exhibited at the St. Louis Artists Guild. 400-600
