Rookwood Auction June 7, 1997 - Important Rookwood Session Two - 2:30 p.m.
The second session of our Rookwood auction contains over 380 artist signed and decorated pieces in virtually every glaze technique employed during the long history of Cincinnati's Rookwood Pottery. These examples were selected over the past several years for their individual merit and superior quality. The majority of these pieces are in mint condition as they were when originally produced. The varied selection contained in this sale affords the buyer an excellent opportunity to acquire some museum quality Rookwood at competitive and sensible prices.
An exceptional collection of Rookwood accounts for the majority of the examples in our important Rookwood sale. Collected over the past two and a half decades by the late Dr. Michael Hiley - many pieces came from us either through auction or private sale - we are pleased to have the opportunity to offer these wonderful objects, but are saddened by the loss of a client and friend of over twenty years. The majority of these objects are mint.
