| 634. Richard Chase (American, b.1892), "Illinois Farm", c.1930; oil/board, 30" x 36", signed. Chase worked in Chicago, and studied at the Art Institute. He also spent summers during the 1920s, in Provincetown, painting with R.E. Miller and Charles Hawthorne. He painted landscapes, portraits, and city scenes of downtown Chicago. These Chicago scenes were reproduced in color in the Chicago Tribune in the 1920s-30s. The Chicago Historical Society held a retrospective of his work in 1981. 1000-2000 |
