593. John A. Spelman (American, b.1880), "Winter Landscape", c.1923; oil/canvas, 41" x 47", signed. Chicago landscape painter. He was a member of the Oak Park and River Forest Art League, Association of Chicago Painters and Sculptors, and the Chicago Gallery Association. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Oak Park Art League, and the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art. His work is in the collections of the Chicago Athletic Club, University of Nebraska, Illinois State Museum (Springfield), and the Springfield Art Association. 3000-5000 Property of Oak Park River Forest High School.
