568. James R. Hopkins (American, b.1877), "Mountain Lake", c.1910; oil/board, 8" x 10", signed. Important Cincinnati painter. Hopkins studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and in Paris. He exhibited at the Pan-Pacific Expo (1915), National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and at the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at the Art Academy of Cincinnati (1914-44) and at Ohio State University (1944). 1000-1500
