| 819. Charles and Ray Eames chaise, c. 1968, by Herman Miller, designed for director Billy Wilder, sand-cast eggplant-colored aluminum frame with black leather cushions and one detached cushion, 75"w x 18"d x 27"h, excellent condition 2000-3000
Inspired by a remark from the Eames' friend, director Billy Wilder, the Chaise is designed for the perfect afternoon rest. Due to the narrow frame, one would have to sleep with arms crossed. Inevitably one's arms would slip and cause the sleeper to awake, thus ending the catnap. |
