He studied at the Boston Museum School and in France. He
was exhibited at the Boston Art Club, Salmagundi Club,
National Academy of Design, Paris Salon, and the Art Institute of
Chicago (1890s-1930s). His work is in the Metropolitan Museum of
Art, National Academy of Design, Art Institute of Chicago, and the
Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Browne was a
traditional impressionist, and one of his scenes of Cape Cod was bought by
