Schwartz (American, 1867-1942 ), "Shining Hills", c.1925; oil/canvas, 25"
x 30", signed. Schwartz was best known for his crisp
landscape paintings. He studied with Duveneck in Cincinnati,
and exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago (1905-09),
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1909-1912). He was awarded the
Lazarus Scholarship to go to Italy and paint. His work is in the collections of
the Atkins Museum of Fine Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, and
in several public buildings. This is an fine example of this artist's work.
