Hagerup worked primarily in the San Francisco area and painted nearly 6,000 works of marine subject matter. He was awarded gold medals at the Lewis & Clark Expo (Portland, 1905) and the Alaska-Yukon Expo (Seattle, 1909). 700-900

He painted in Taos and Santa Fe, and the landscape of southern California. He exhibited at the Laguna Beach Art Association, San Bernadino Art Association, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. 2500-3500
