490. Leon Gaspard (Russian/American, 1882-1964), "Russian Village Scene", c.1910; oil/board, 8" x 10", signed. Well known for his bright and loose impressionist images. Gaspard worked in Siberia from 1908-10. He fought for France in WWI as a pilot, and was shot down. He moved to New York in 1916, and then eventually to Taos, NM, in 1918. 2000-3000 |

491. Charles Reiffel (American, 1862-1942), "North Africa", c.1910; oil/canvas, 16" x 20", signed. This well known San Diego painter began his career in Buffalo, NY. He worked in a tonalist style, which is evident in this early work. He later moved to Silvermine, CT, and eventually to California, where he developed a more modern style. 4000-6000 |

492. Addison Thomas Millar (American, 1860-1913), "Cafe Boy, Saada", c.1899; oil/board, 10" x 8", signed, Salmagundi Club label. Millar was born in Ohio, and studied in Cleveland with DeScott Evans before moving to New York in 1883. He began working with William M. Chase in 1892 at Shinnecock. He later established a studio in Paris, and was killed in an auto accident in 1913. He exhibited extensively from the 1890s until his death. 3500-4500 |
