Charles and Ray Eames 2071 Charles and Ray Eames
DCW, c.1950
manufactured by Herman Miller molded ash plywood frame with original slunk skin upholstered seat and back, upholstery label, 19"w x 20"d x 29"h, 20"w x 20"d x 29"h, excellent condition
5000-7000
Provenance: Breeze-Stewart Collection E102.04

The most playful variation of the famous chair, this version was offered from 1948 to 1953. Politically incorrect by our modern standards (slunk skin is unborn calf) the chair is a great period statement. The luxury of the hide is in direct contrast to the utilitarian plywood structure. Extremely hard to find today in good shape, this example is in pristine original condition.
