The first mass-production run of plywood chairs (1000) begin in the summer of 1946. This chair dates to that year and is in excellent, original condition with all rubber shockmounts intact.

manufactured by Evans, distributed by Herman Miller molded ash plywood seat, back and frame, label, 22"w x 22"d x 26"h, excellent condition

Herman Miller began marketing the plywood chairs in January 1947, by 1949 they took over production as well. The LCW was discontinued in 1957. The chair was originally priced $17.85. In 1957 it sold for $66.

From 1961 to 1966 Eames DCM and LCM were offered in oil rosewood at a premium price.
