The furniture for the Kleinhas Music Hall in Buffalo was an early collaboration between Eero Saarinen and Charles Eames done while Charles was working in Eliel SaarinenÕs office in 1939. According to Pat Kirkham in her book, Charles and Ray Eames Designers of the Twentieth Century, Charles executed the design drawings for the furniture. The molded form of the chair is highly influenced by Aalto and is still two-dimensional in its form yet it is gracefully balanced. The chair marks the first step in a collaboration that would yield the famous designs for the Museum of Modern ArtÕs Organic Design Competition in 1940.
