Important Frank Lloyd Wright reclining chair, designed for the Isabel Roberts House, River Forest, Ill., 1908, strong architectural design with adjustable seat and back, birch with mahogany stain, important commission from Wright's Prairie period, original finish, 33"w x 37"d x 38"h, excellent condition 40,000-50,000 Note: Isabel Roberts was Wright's secretary and business manager for the Oak Park Studio. She was credited with designing art glass during this period. Upon Wright's departure from Oak Park to Europe in 1909, Roberts shared the task of settling Wright's commissions and closing the studio. Her occupation was listed as architect on her death certificate. |
