| 347. Ferdinand Edward Walcher (American, early 20th century), "Standing Nude", c.1925; oil/board, 12" x 9", signed. Walcher was a St. Louis artist, known best for his figurative works. He studied at the Art Students League and also studied with J.S. Sargent. He frequently worked in charcoal and pastel, and executed beach scenes and poolside scenes in a style similar to Prendergast's. He will be included in a book currently being written and compiled by the St. Louis Public Library, concerning artists working in St. Louis in the early 20th century. | 348. Louis Eilshemius (American, 1864-1941), "Summer's Day", c.1900; ink drawing, together with a lithograph. Interesting artist, very eccentric. He worked in new York after studying in Europe. He quit painting in 1921, after his first one-man show in NYC. 250-350 |
