292. Karl Kappes (American, 1861-1943), "The Maumee River", c. 1920; oil/board, signed. Toledo, OH painter. Kappes studied with W.M. Chase, and painted landscapes, portraits, and still lifes. 300-500

293. Louis Aston Knight (French/American, b. 1873), "Scene Outside of Paris", c. 1910; oil/canvas, 4.5" x 3.5", signed. Knight was well known for his scenes of these streams with flowers and buildings, painted in France. 900-1200

294. Leo Blake (American, 1887-1976), "New England Landscape", c.1930; oil/canvas, 19" x 21", signed, well framed. Blake studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and with Birge Harrison. He painted mostly landscapes, and was a member of the New Haven (CT) Paint and Clay Club and the North Shore Art Association. He exhibited extensively in the 1930s-40s, at the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art, North Shore Art Association, and Art Institute of Chicago. 2000-3000
