beginning on February 15th, 1998. This sale includes the first selection from the most
comprehensive collection of important Costume and Bakelite jewelry to be sold via
auction. Every item from this 2000 piece collection will be offered through a series of
sales. Selected for this first sale is an across the board representation of the
collection, mostly from the 1930's & 1940's including over 130 lots of costume jewelry.
There are five Boucher pieces including a marionette, a praying mantis and enameled
peppers. We have
a Chanel flamingo, Cini, DeRosa, DeWees, KJL, Joseff of Hollywood, Staret, including
eight Duettes and many figurals. Eisenberg is represented by nearly 50 examples, mostly
Eisenberg Originals, including large colored pieces and many figurals.
We have some excellent Miriam Haskell and Hobe pieces, and
nearly 30 pieces of Trifari including nine "Jelly Bellies", a pearl belly and some "Fruit Salad"
pieces. The Bakelite portion of the sale includes many rare examples, including a very
desirable Motorola S-Grill radio.
There will be a Philadelphia bracelet, "Moon Over Miami" pin, Martha Sleeper pieces,
including "Love Letters", rare reversed carved bracelets, articulated figures, laminates and
dots, fruit and vegetables, Googly eyes, pivoting, hands, dogs, celluloids, wood, lucite,
