He exhibited extensively from the 1880s-1910s, in the U.S. and in Paris. He was a member of the National Academy and the Salmagundi Club. Grant studied with Chase and Miller and was recognized for his still lifes. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Artist Guild, and the Chicago Artists Club.
