667. Frederick Carl Frieseke (American, 1874-1939), "Woman in an Interior", c.1915; oil/board, 11" x 9", signed, ornate contemporary frame. Important impressionist painter. Frieseke studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and in New York before going to Paris. In 1906, he moved to Giverny and was Monet's neighbor. He was deeply influenced by Monet's work, and his paintings became full of light and color. His most desirable subjects are pretty women in gardens or interiors. 25,000-35,000 |
