779. Alexander Corazzo (French/American, 1908-1971), "Non-Objective", c.1935; oil/canvas, 40" x 18", unsigned, from artist's estate, letter of provenance available, guaranteed. Important non-objective painter and member of the New Bauhaus. He studied in France at La Martiniere, Lyon (1920-24) and the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique de Lyon (1918-24). He was a member of two important non-objective art groups: American Abstract Artists (NYC) and the Abstraction-Creation Group (Paris). He exhibited throughout the 1930s-40s at the Art Institute of Chicago, Carnegie Institute, Detroit Institute of Art, San Francisco Museum of Art and the Stendahl Gallery (Los Angeles). 4000-5000

781. Robert J. Wolff (American, 1905-1978), "Abstract Composition", c.1940; watercolor/paper, 23" x 29", signed and dated. Important non-objective painter from Chicago. He was a friend of Moholy-Nagy and was the Dean of the New Bauhaus (1939-42). He was a member of the American Abstract Artists (NYC). Wolff primarily executed works on paper or casein and this is a large, important example of his work. Wolff was featured in an exhibition and book at Wake Forest University, which showcased the J.
