751. Jon Corbino (American, 1905-1964), "Three Plumed Riders", c.1940; oil/canvas, 12" x 16", signed, label on verso, Oehschlager Galleries, also titled on verso and artist's address in Rockport, MA. Important American modernist painter. Corbino worked with Luks at the Art Students League. He exhibited throughout the 1930s-40s, at Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy of Design and the Boston Museum of Art. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, Whitney Museum, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the Boston Museum. An excellent example of his most desirable subject matter. 3000-4000

756. James McCracken (American, early 20th century), "Flamingo", c.1929; oil/board, 36" x 32", signed, original frame. McCracken worked in Chicago and Iowa and was well known for his Art Deco stylized images of exotic birds. His style with this subject matter has been compared to California painter, Jessie Arms Botke. He was also associated with a group of Iowa regionalist painters, including Grant Wood. 3500-4500
