737. Hebert Herget (American, 19th-20th century), "The Outpost", c.1900; oil/canvas, 20" x 15", signed, excellent original carved frame. Herget worked with O.E. Berninghaus in St. Louis and painted almost exclusively western subjects. An excellent example of his work. 3000-5000

740. Ralph Davison Miller (American, 1858-1945), "Forest Interior", c.1910; oil/canvas, 30" x 40", signed. Miller was mostly self-taught and lived in New Mexico in the 1880s, before settling in Los Angeles in 1893. He specialized in landscapes and regularly executed dark tonalist interiors, similar to the work of William Keith. 800-1100

741. Rudolph Ingerle (American, b.1879), "The Great River", c.1910; oil/board, 24" x 27", signed. Ingerle was an important Midwestern landscape painter. He worked in Chicago, the Ozarks and in Brown County, Indiana. He received recognition for his tonalist works in each of those areas. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Chicago Society of Artists and the All-Illinois Society of Fine Artists (1910s-30s). An exceptional example of his work in the tonalist aesthetic. 5000-7000
