A true cowboy artist, Borein worked on ranches in Santa Barbara and Mexico. Member of the Society of American Etchers. Friend of Will Rogers, Maynard Dixon and Charles Russell. 2000-3000

710. Jessie Arms Botke, attribution (American, 1883-1971), "Landscape", c.1915; oil/board, 8" x 10", written on verso, "painted by Mrs. Botke". California painter was born in Chicago and studied at the Art Institute. Married Cornelius Botke. Botke's early work is consistent to the style in which this painting was done. It is most likely her work. 300-500 |
