Winter studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and in Paris. He specialized in colorful impressionist scenes of the Gloucester, MA area. He also illustrated works for Elbert Hubbard. 600-800 |

| 517. Emil Armin (American, b.1883), "Wood Lake", c.1924; oil/board, 10" x 14", signed and dated. Chicago painter. He studied at the Art Institute of chicago, and exhibited at the Chicago Society of Artists, Art Institute of Chicago, as well as executing some illustration work. He painted in a distinctive post-impressionist style, which was similar to the French painters. 1000-1500 |

| 518. Ferdinand Edward Walcher (American, early 20th century), "Poolside Party", c.1925; pastel/paper, 8" x 10", signed. Walcher was a St. Louis artist, known best for his figurative works. He studied at the Art Students League and also studied with J.S. Sargent. He frequently worked in charcoal and pastel, and executed beach scenes and poolside scenes in a style similar to Prendergast's. He will be included in a book currently being written and compiled by the St. Louis Public Library, concerning artists working in St. Louis in the early 20th century.
