Sargent painted in Charleston, IL, and specialized in colorful, impressionist landscapes. He also worked in Indiana, and exhibited at the Hoosier Salon and the Brown County Art Association. Sargent painted in Los Angeles for a time in the 1920s. 1500-2500 |

| 501. Charles Arthur Fries (American, 1854-1940), "County Park in Spring Valley", c.1934; oil/canvas, 20" x 24", signed, dated, and titled. Information on verso reads: California Commission for the Golden Gate International Exposition, Dept. of Special Events. Fries first came to California in 1896, and eventually settled in San Diego. He was a member of the San Diego Artist Guild, Laguna Beach Art Association, and the California Art Club. He exhibited California landscapes throughout the 1910s-30s. 2000-3000 |
