| 464. Elizabeth Nourse (American, 1859-1938), "Avenue", c.1915; watercolor on paper, 7" x 9.5". Important painter from Cincinnati, Nourse left for Paris in the late 19th century, and remained in France her entire lifetime. She painted landscapes, portraits, and peasant women and children. Her work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Cincinnati Art Museum, National Gallery of Art, and the Musee d'Orsay (Paris). 1500-2500 |
