449. Charles Dorman Robinson (American, 1847-1933), "Shipping off the Coast", c.1890; oil/canvas, 20" x 26", signed, ornate frame. Early marine painter from California. He studied with Inness and De Haas, and exhibited as early as 1860 in San Francisco. Very fine example of this artist's work. 2500-3500

450. Arthur G. Rider (American, b.1886), "Snowy River Landscape", c.1925; oil/canvas, 17.5" x 20", signed. Rider met Sorolla in Chicago, and went to Spain to work with him. The influence of this relationship was profound on his work. Rider's work was consistently concerned with the quality of light and its dramatic effect on color. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Gallery Association, Laguna Beach Art Association, and the Golden Gate Expo (1939). 5000-7000
