450. Arthur G. Rider (American, b.1886), "Snowy River Landscape", c.1925; oil/canvas, 17.5" x 20", signed. Rider met Sorolla in Chicago, and went to Spain to work with him. The influence of this relationship was profound on his work. Rider's work was consistently concerned with the quality of light and its dramatic effect on color. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Gallery Association, Laguna Beach Art Association, and the Golden Gate Expo (1939). 5000-7000 |
