706. Erwin Osen (Austrian, early 20th century), "Nudes", c.1910; watercolor/paper, 11" x 14", signed. Osen was a good friend of Egon Schiele. He and his wife were contortionists and models, and were the subjects of several of Schiele's work. Osen was highly influenced by Schiele's style, which is clearly evident in this work. 1000-2000 |

707. Jon Corbino (American, 1905-1964), "Dancers", c.1940; oil/board, 16" x 12", signed, original frame. Important American modernist painter. Corbino worked with Luks at the Art Students League. He exhibited throughout the 1930s-40s, at the Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy of Design, and the Boston Museum of Art. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, Whitney Museum, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Corbino's best subjects are dancers and circus performers. 2500-3500 |

708. James McCracken (American, early 20th century), "Flamingos", c.1930; oil/board, 36" x 36", signed. Chicago/Iowa painter. McCracken was part of the Stone City Artists Group, which also included the artist Grant Wood. He painted regionalist landscapes and decorative images of exotic birds, very similar in style to California painter, Jessie Arms Botke. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago. 2500-4500 |
