651. Chester Leich (American, b.1889), "The Woodcart", c.1945; oil/canvas, 12" x 16", signed. Studied in Chicago and in Germany. He exhibited extensively at the World's Fair New York, National Academy of Design, Paris Salon, Art Institute of Chicago, and the Tucson Fine Art Association (1930s-40s). His work is included in many public collections in Indiana, including the Evansville Art Museum; also the National Academy of Design and Museum of New Mexico. 300-500 |

653. Lone Wolf (Hart M. Schultz) (American, 1882-1965), "Evening Rider", c.1930; oil/canvas laid down on masonite, 18" x 24", signed, nicely framed. He was encouraged early in his career by Thomas Moran, and studied in Los Angeles and Chicago. He was an Indian-cowboy, and illustrated many of his father's (James W. Schultz) books on Indian life. He painted western subject matter in a style similar to Russell's and Remington's. His work is included in the collections of the University of Nebraska and the Santa Fe Railroad. 1500-2000 |
