| 595. John Christen Johansen (American, 1876-1964), "Venice", c.1908; oil/board, 10" x 10", signed, excellent original frame. Johansen studied at the Art Institute and in Paris. He was well-known as a portrait painter, but painted a variety of subjects. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Newport Art Association, Pan-Pacific Expo, National Academy of Design, and the Stockbridge Art Association.
