| 568. John Joseph Enneking (American, 1841-1916),
"Autumn Glow", c.1880; oil/canvas, 12" x 18", signed,
excellent original frame. Important landscape painter from Boston.
Enneking studied with Bonnat and Daubigny in
France from 1873-76. He was a member of the Twentieth
Century Club, Boston Art Club, Pudding Stone Club, and
the Boston Art Club. He exhibited in Boston and at the
Paris Expo (1900), as well as the Pan-American Expo
(Buffalo, 1901); and the Pan-Pacific Expo (San Francisco, 1915).
He enlisted on the Union side of the Civil War, and
was severely wounded. He went to Boston in 1868 and
studied lithography before traveling to France, and returned
to Boston for good in 1876. 3000-5000 |
