We are pleased to announce a special event to benefit Pleasant Home,
designed by architect George Washington Maher for John Farson in Oak Park and recently designated a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1897, Pleasant Home is one of the earliest surviving examples of Prairie School Architecture and now is a historic house museum. |
| The program
will be held on Saturday,
November 23. It will feature tours of Pleasant Home, the opening of
The Kaufmann Collection, the exhibit of an important private collection of early Gustav Stickley furniture
now offered for sale, and lectures by Arts and Crafts author David Cathers and consultant and writer
Thomas Maher. Both the exhibit and lectures will be held at Unity Temple, one
of Frank Lloyd Wright's
finest buildings.
