U N I T Y T E M P L E Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) and created between 1906 and 1908, Unity Temple is of major importance in the development of world architecture. It is one of the first buildings designed to use reinforced concrete as both a structural and a finish material. Its form, finish and decoration all express the nature of the primary material.
As Wright's last remaining public building from his early "Prairie School" period and one of the most important buildings in the world, it attracts visitors from
around the world.

Unity Temple was designated a National Historic Landmark in April, 1970, an early recognition of the building's significance to our cultural and aesthetic heritage. Since the identification of it's importance, the Unity Temple Restoration Foundation has been charged with raising funds to restore the building. This benefit, underwritten by John Toomey & Treadway Galleries, will raise monies toward the $2 million needed to restore the building that Wright referred to as his "little jewel box." Please help us restore this National treasure and keep it open for generations to come.
"Unity Temple is where you will find the first real expression of my idea that the space within the building is the reality of
that building."
