98. Frederic M. Grant (American, b.1886), "Man Carving His Own Destiny", 1930; oil/canvas, 31" x 33", signed, original frame, accompanied by book on the sculptor of the subject, a friend of Grant's. Important Chicago still life painter. Grant studied with William M. Chase and Richard Miller. He exhibited extensively from the 1910s-40s, at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Art Club. 4500-5500
