| 53. Gerard Curtis Delano (American, b.1890), "Tending the Sheep (Navajo)", c.1960; oil/canvas, 15.5" x 13.5", signed. Delano studied with illustrators Wyeth, Dunn, and Cornwell, at the Art Students League and the Grand Central School of Art. He was a member of the Cowboy Artists of America, and was an illustrator for Western Story Magazine. Delano worked as an illustrator in New York City before moving to Colorado in 1920 (settled there permanently after 1933). 6000-8000 |
