52. Carl Schmidt (American, 1885-1969), "Waiting for the Herder", c.1930; oil/canvas, 40" x 50", signed, excellent original carved frame. Schmidt studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He moved to San Bernadino, CA in 1924, and remained there until his death. He painted desert landscapes, Indians, still lifes and portraits. He was a member of the Laguna Beach Art Association and the San Bernadino Art Association. This is a monumental example of this artist's work. 5000-7000
