Springs, CO painter. In the late 1860s, Craig traveled the upper Missouri river into Montana, living among Indians. He went to the
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art from 1872-73, and then settled in Colorado in 1881. He was known for his realistic depictions of
Indian subjects, derived from the extensive time he spent living among them. Craig and Frank Sauerwein lived among the Ute tribe
of Colorado in 1893. He exhibited at the American Watercolor Society, Minneapolis Expo (1886-88), St. Louis (1889), Omaha (1894-96).
